Architect / Engineer
We participate as a member of the architectural design team by participating in the following phases:
Conceptual Phase
Our approach to the conceptual phase is to create the Basis of Design conversation in a narrative document with illustrations.
Schematic Phase
Out approach to the schematic phase is to create the schematic narrative using the Basis of Design concept, if not already created. We also include a list of probable costs in this phase.
Design Development
Our approach to the design development phase is to create drawings and details that illustrate the device placements to match the Basis of Design documents. When appropriate we include the basic specifications and update the list of probable costs.
Construction Documents
Our approach to the construction documents phase is to create a set of drawings that include the details, floor plans, site plan, diagrams, schedules, and legends related to our contracted scope of work systems. We also include the appropriate specifications in CSI Masterformat for the systems related to our contracted scope of work.
Bid Phase
Our approach to the bid phase is to review the received bids for accuracy and compliance with the bid documents.
Construction Administration / LV Commissioning
Our approach to the construction administration phase is what we call low voltage commissioning. We still provide the regular CA type of services like reviewing submittals, RFI’s and answer design questions but we go the extra step during this phase to ensure the end installed product is what the design included and the end user wanted. This extra step includes creating an equipment list of designed, submitted, and installed products following the device tag given in the design documents for a continuous reference. We also review the installation in progress throughout the construction project, witness pre-functional testing, and conduct performance verification of the completed systems as related to our contracted scope of work. At the end of the project, we witness training by the manufacturer and provide operational training of the systems as designed in the basis of design documentation.
